Mark came into EMS as a volunteer in 2003. With 23 years of EMT experience—including volunteer service with St. Charles, Plainview, Le Center, and New Richland Ambulance—Mark is deeply rooted in Minnesota’s emergency services community. He has been with the South Central Minnesota EMS Region since 2009, and in 2021 started with the MJM Medical Direction Consortium, promoting their mission for active and engaged medical direction for ambulance, fire, and law enforcement agencies.

Mark served in the US Navy from 1986-1993, leaving as a Machinist Mate 2nd Clas.

Mark holds a Master of Public Administration from Upper Iowa University, a private pilot certificate, and received the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Rural Mental Health Advocate of the Year award in April 2025.
